Operation Smile’s annual International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) is a powerful opportunity for students like you to help change lives — and change your own, too.

You’ll learn from guest speakers who are leaders in their fields. You’ll hone your skills through interactive workshops.

But perhaps most importantly, you’ll connect with service-minded peers from high schools and universities around the world and, together, make an impact on the lives of Operation Smiler’s patients born with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Passion

I had joined Operation Smile because I wanted to help others, but Operation Smile is the one that's actually helping me, you know, in becoming a different version of myself, a better version of myself. And I have just learned so much. I have spoken to people from all across the world. I have made some lifelong friendships and learned about what they're doing in their own countries, how they're helping people. … I'm going to be setting up a club in my high school and doing whatever best I can to help the children in my country.

Cultural Exchange

The way Malawi helps Operation Smile could be different to how China does, or how Rwanda or the United States does, I want to share my ideas and take into consideration other students’ ideas so I can take them back home and try to adopt those with my club.
