PEACE MISSION:
FOR HEALTH & HAPPINESS

Announcement regarding COVID-19

Thank you again for your patience as Operation Smile Student Programs continues to keep an eye on the developing situation of COVID-19.

Due to the rapidly changing situation, Operation Smile Student Programs has put a hold on acceptances for the 2021 Peace Mission Program.

Our applicant pool is very strong given the many years your children have been engaged with the organization. We thank you for believing in our mission to grant the gift of a surgery to many deserving children across the globe.

Thank for your patience throughout this process.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

What is the Peace Mission?

The Peace Mission program serves to educate and inspire compassionate students who desire to understand and improve the world around them with Operation Smile as the vehicle. Employing an interdisciplinary approach that extends beyond the classroom, selected students will work alongside Operation Smile staff and volunteers to explore relevant educational, health, and environmental issues that take place in areas of Central America.

Accepted candidates will be assigned either Panama or Guatemala by the review committee.

**Please note that only rising ninth-grade students from Hampton Roads may apply for admission, and two years of Spanish is preferred, but not mandatory.**
