Operation Smile Student Programs offers unique opportunities for young people to get involved in our fight against cleft lip and palate conditions worldwide. Our mission is to provide safe and timely surgery, as well as comprehensive care to every child born with a cleft. We have already helped thousands of children and their families, but there is still much work to be done. We believe that young people can make a difference, and we welcome students to join us in our mission by volunteering, fundraising, or raising awareness.

Your Attendance Changes The World

Cleft lip and palate is a common birth defect that affects millions of children worldwide. This condition occurs when the tissues in the baby’s face and mouth do not fuse properly during development in the womb. As a result, a child with a cleft may have difficulty with feeding, speech, hearing, and breathing. Fortunately, with the right treatment and support, children with cleft lip and palate can lead happy, healthy lives.
